Bangkok Trip Day 4

by - 03:30

Feeling super refreshed, we woke up bright and early and started our sightseeing. Sign up a half day tour package to continue our ventured forth. Our first stop was Ayutthaya and Bang Pa-In Summer Palace.. Despite getting there shortly after it opened, the place was absolutely MOBBED by tourists, but the palace was so beautiful that the crowds and heat didn't sway us from staying a lot longer than anticipated.

▲ Make sure you're dressed conservatively--most temples require you to have your legs and shoulders covered.

▲ The weather is damn HOT

The whole palace is, in fact, worth a visit. It’s about two hours north of Bangkok and just 20 minutes south of Ayutthaya. It spreads out over a huge area that is filled mainly with grassy lawns and massive water features. Little canals run through most of the compound, connecting to the river alongside it.

▲ A Thai-style pavilion in the middle of the pond.

▲ The colorful buildings include a Chinese-style palace.

▲ A European-style royal residence.

Wat Mahathat is located to the east of the grand palace. It is the royal temple and most scared in Ayutthaya during glorious time.

▲ Some of the ruins of Ayutthaya.

▲ This is also where you can spot the famous tree that has grown around a Buddha head.

▲ While having rest *Spot his new tattoo! 😁

Time to return to our hotel. Bought a super cute grape juice from the little store that located in Bang Pa.

We spent the rest of the afternoon/early evening just wandering around the hotel area until we got hungry, so we bought some street food as our lunch.

After all the interesting street food, we both decide to grab some alcohol, made for a perfect last night in Bangkok.

Just down the street from Onyx you will come across a large wood maze-like spread out club nostalgically named Route66, one of the oldest nightclubs in Bangkok. A mix of all young working professionals, expats, tourists, local and foreign exchange students all confide in a whiskey mess of drinking and dancing in one of the 3 rooms at Route 66.

Day 5

Today it's our last day to stay Bangkok. Woke up early in the morning and walked to BTS just to head to the malls. As a crazy shopper, I wants to go back Platinum Mall to revenge back whatever I didn't manage to buy that day. GRRRR

▲ Had our last breakfast at Ootoya Kitchen 大戶屋 which located inside Siam Paragon.

After my very last minute shopping, finally we get to pop in to the airport haha.

▲ Second day of my tattoo, it looks fake now by the way 😅

No matter how many times I've been to this city, i'll always be captured by its beauty and culture. Putting aside those unethical drivers and occasional rude encounters with people, it's a city which has so much more to give & for me to explore. Be right back! XOXO
